Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman investor speaking, consultant writer, syndicated columnist, television host, and author. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real-estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company within a short time. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank to date. Corcoran has signed 53 deals in February, 2020. Her biggest deal was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence was her mother. She was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a skilled worker throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family frequently relied on free food deliveries from the local grocer. Corcoran still remembers her father as someone who drank sometimes and was rude to her mother. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education and later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran was educated at an Catholic elementary and then started high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. After flunking several courses during her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School, where she received a grade of D.
